“Lead vocalist Seven’s conversation with their subconscious, exploring mental health & neurodivergence, adds a layer of depth & vulnerability that’s hard to ignore” Eat This Music
Hull’s much loved indie band Avis follow last year’s Daffodil Girl with the release of their new EP How To Be Happy & from it this explosive new track for radio City Suicide. Having enjoyed support from BBC 6Music’s Steve Lamacq, Radio X’s John Kennedy & BBC Introducing with their previous output, Avis are on a roll with this new release which is going down a storm at packed venues throughout East Yorkshire.
Released by Hull’s local talent farm Warren Records & produced by Adam Pattrick, the highly expressive fervour coming from the band on City Suicide contrasts with lead vocalist Seven’s seemingly dark lyrics about feeling trapped in a repetitive mundane 9 to 5 lifestyle with no way to break the cycle aside from a self-inflicted death – surely there must be more than this!
