“A song about fleeting moments, it’s redolent both of the will to escape and the realisation that it might not be so easy”
Following the digital release of Dan Lyons‘ Biarritz ft Clémence Quélennec on streaming services and download platforms last month, the track’s been picking up support from BBC 6Music‘s Steve Lamacq, Radio X‘s John Kennedy (Xposure show), Amazing Radio, Amazon Music‘s Fresh Indie and Wonderland included it on their #WonderList alongside global artists Frank Ocean & Selena Gomez
Now the release gets a visual treatment that involved Dan travelling to France to film it with Clémence from La Femme, who also features on the track. So far the video’s been getting a great response with Clash premiering the release on their website and Hero interviewing Dan about how it was made.
Rooted in the story of an abusive relationship during a two week holiday to the South of France, the split-screen visuals, directed by Lucile Brizard, follow Lyons and La Femme musician Clémence Quélennec as they maze through the streets of Paris, never quite meeting.
Meanwhile it’s days away from Dan’s gigs with the Libertines – if you’re in Manchester on 10th December or Birmingham on the 14th be sure to grab some tickets to catch him live with his amazing band (and of course the Libertines too!)
