“Atmospheric, swirling indie guitars with elements of experimental pop” Women In Pop
Tasmanian based alt-rock / indie-pop outfit HOLiDAY arrive in the UK this autumn to promote the release of their funky, punchy, up-tempo banger WOA. With its driving drums, big vocals and bouncy riffs, WOA (an acronym for ‘work of art’) is inspired by what it means to be an ‘artist’ dealing with social pressures & ultimately celebrating individualism – we are all in our own way a unique ‘work of art’ & as such, life should be about pursuing one’s passions while having fun with that journey!
Taking initial inspiration from artists like Foals, Florence & the Machine, Wolf Alice & alike, there were lost lyrics, accidental ping-pong guitar echoes & an elusive 80s drum machine that all contributed to the story behind the definitive version of WOA which was skilfully produced by the Grammy nominated & ARIA winning Gang of Youths & Pharrell producer Adrian Breakspear – while mastering duties fell to Leon Zervous (Muse, Mobb Deep, Delta Goodrem & many more).
