Last year’s breakthrough single I Miss it (which John Kennedy made a Radio X / X-Posure Hot One) talked about everything we’d missed over the lockdowns while in stark contrast, 2^nd single TV Or Not TV dealt with societal pressures, expectations and social/economical poverty. This time Jodie flips it back to something more fun and relatable on How It Is, exploring the fun side of her personality with a piece about how many of us live that 9 to 5 lifestyle, always working towards the freedom of the weekend and how it can get messy once the beer garden weather hits!. Explaining how the track came about, Jodie says “It came off the back of a spoken word piece I was recording, ‘Baddie’ heard a catchy phrase that he turned into a chorus and encouraged me to write around that theme…and so How It Is was born”
