“Shimmering jangly rock blending Smiths-esque guitar work with an emotive & melancholic vocal performance” – We All Want Someone To Shout For
Following the release of last year’s debut single Black Dahlia, County Durham born, Hull based non-binary singer-songwriter moss has gone back in the studio to complete their debut EP Antimony – a collection of jangling guitars, dancing basslines & thought-provoking poetic lyricism typical of this erudite talent. From the EP is this key track selfish selflessness – a musical study on how being too much of a people pleaser can be draining, with those around you using vulnerability, sympathy or empathy for their own benefit.
Released on local talent farm Warren Records & produced by their in-house producer Adam Pattrick, the EP sees the artist having an open & honest conversation with themself around issues of boundaries & navigating one’s way through early adulthood
moss says of the release “The track selfish selflessness, was the first time I feel I’ve written a song based on my own growth towards maturity”.
