Vagabond / Pretty Boy - artwork

Fresh out the blocks come Hull’s latest young & explosive punk outfit Vagabond with their raucous debut single Pretty Boy – a song about a young lad who’s got a huge crush on his teacher.

Released on local label Warren Records (part of the highly respected Warren Youth Project) the record is produced by The Warren’s in-house producer Adam Pattrick, who’s captured the anarchic nature of the band’s performance perfectly. The song itself portrays the unrequited love felt by an adolescent for an unattainable mentor. The lad in question feels anger that his success in school means the teacher will never notice him, whereas the other less bright boys in his class have to stay behind after class, gaining access to lots of additional attention from the teacher.

Excited to get their music out into the world for all to hear, the band say: This is the first of many singles we plan to release over the next year or so & one of our favourite songs to play live. It has lots of energy & we always get a good reaction from audiences when we play it live”.
